Mariel specializes in employee benefit planning with emphasis on the design and administration of pension and profit sharing plans, including 401(k), 403(b) and cafeteria plans. She also works with nonqualified deferred compensation programs and retirement planning. Additionally, Mariel provides personal and business tax services and financial planning, including estate tax and business succession planning.

Mariel attended the University of Missouri and earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting, graduating cum laude. She also earned a Master of Accountancy degree from MU in 1973. Mariel joined Williams-Keepers LLC in 1973 and was admitted as a tax partner in 1976. She currently serves on the firm’s Employee Benefits and Financial Institutions teams.

An active member of the community, Mariel has held numerous leadership positions and served on several committees for the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. She is a past president of the Chamber’s Women’s Network. Mariel serves as treasurer on the boards of directors for the Missouri Innovation Center and the Central Missouri Food Bank. She is also a member of the State Board and the Columbia Regional Board for Boys & Girls Town of Missouri/The Front Door.

Mariel is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
