Steve is WK’s partner in-charge of risk management, which includes quality control, and continuing professional education.  His auditing, accounting and management advisory experience encompasses a broad range of industries, but his areas of concentration are higher education, non-profit organizations and governmental entities. He performs concurring partner reviews and consults on many audits for which he is not engagement partner. He is a member of WK’s Non-Profit Team and the leader of the firm’s Higher Education Team.

As the firm’s quality control specialist, he oversees the firm’s adherence to professional standards and guides the firm in adherence with ethical standards of the CPA profession.

Steve earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska in 1971. He joined WK in 1977 after obtaining four years of experience with a local CPA firm in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). He is also a member of the Government Finance Officers Association and the Government Finance Officers Association of Missouri. He was a founding member and has served as president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Boone County and participated in numerous local organizations’ fund raising campaigns.  He has served on the Board of Directors for the MSCPA’s Educational Foundation. He is currently serving as a committee member of the Peer Review Oversight Board of the Missouri State of Board of Accountancy.
